Family communication plays a crucial role in supporting children’s education. However, various challenges such as busy parents and limited family time can impact the quality of communication between parents and children. This study aims to describe the role of family communication in sup-porting children’s education among Family Welfare Move-ment (PKK) members in Genuk Sari, Semarang. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Par-ticipants consisted of three PKK mothers selected using pur-posive sampling. Data were collected through semi-struc-tured interviews and family assessments, then analyzed us-ing thematic analysis. The results revealed four main themes: open communication, parental involvement, emo-tional support, and character education. Open communica-tion allows for the exchange of information and the expres-sion of feelings within the family. Parental involvement is evident through mentoring and supervision of children’s ed-ucation. Emotional support is provided through attention and motivation, while character education is carried out by instilling the values of discipline, responsibility, courtesy, and religious values. This study concludes that family com-munication plays a crucial role in supporting children’s ed-ucation, both in academic aspects and character develop-ment. Therefore, parents need to build effective communi-cation to support optimal child growth and development.
