About the Journal

AL HUKMU: Journal of Islamic Law and Economics (E-ISSN: 2963-9506) is a peer-reviewed scientific publication dedicated to disseminating high-quality research in the interconnected fields of Islamic Law and Islamic Economics. The journal provides a platform for scholarly works that explore legal and economic issues from the perspective of Sharia, with particular attention to Fiqh Muamalah, contemporary Islamic jurisprudence, and the development of Sharia-compliant economic practices. Its focus and scope encompass studies on Islamic legal theory, fatwa analysis, dispute resolution, Islamic financial institutions, halal industry dynamics, zakat and waqf management, and economic policies grounded in maqasid al-sharia. The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research that bridges classical Islamic scholarship with modern legal and economic challenges faced in Muslim societies. Published by the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Economics at Institut Islam Mamba’ul ‘Ulum Surakarta, AL HUKMU appears biannually every March and August.
