The Concept of Adolescent Moral Education from Luqman Al-Hakim's Perspective and Its Implementation in Islamic Parenting

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Islamic parenting from the perspective of Luqman Al-Hakim in instilling moral values in children, identify the moral values contained in Surah Luqman verses 12–19, and examine their relevance to contemporary life. This study employed a library research method using a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings indicate that Luqman Al-Hakim's concept of Islamic parenting emphasizes the cultivation of tawhid (belief in the oneness of Allah), exemplary conduct, self-control, the habituation of gratitude and patience, and parental guidance. The moral values identified include tawhid, birr al-walidayn (kindness and devotion to parents), discipline in performing prayer, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil), humility, simplicity, and courteous speech. These moral values remain highly relevant in addressing the challenges of the digital era and in fostering children's character development.
